(July 14, 2016) – On Friday July 15, Volt Energy Co-Founder Gilbert Campbell will be honored by the White House with the White House Champions of Change for Climate Equity Award for his leadership in providing renewable energy solutions and climate change advocacy for underserved communities. The event will be live streamed on the White House website at www.whitehouse.gov/live/ at 2:30 PM ET.

The Champions of Change program was created as an opportunity for the White House to feature individuals doing extraordinary things to empower and inspire members of their communities. Over the past several years, Campbell has been a champion for promoting renewable energy, entrepreneurship, and STEM education in underserved communities. Under his leadership, Volt Energy has completed solar projects with clients such as Subaru, The Cheesecake Factory, Fort Brag, KIPP DC, and Florida Avenue Baptist Church. For his work in the community, Campbell was the 2014 recipient of the Amtrak and Washington Wizards Pioneer Award, which recognizes individuals that have made a positive impact in their local communities and he was included in EBONY magazine’s Power 100 List.
